First off, I want to acknowledge that I am not originally from Ronkonkoma and have never heard of the Legend of Lake Ronkonkoma. Although, I was one of the lucky people to attend the movie premiere and it was phenomenal! What an amazing performance from all the talent across the board. Walking out that theater I feel like I really know this legend as if I've grown up with it. One thing that really stood out to me was the one the b-roll footage was shot and the overall scoring of the film was beautiful. As a huge fan of The Walking Dead it felt fresh to see Seth Gilliam take on the role of Adam. I loved how this character had a lot of depth to him which made his storyline most interesting to me. I would totally recommend this even if you don't know the legend you might find it interesting to learn!
I thought the movie was phenomenal. It touched me and I feel like I can resonate with some of it. The whole thing really showed a lot of great representation and awareness. It really goes to show how you never know what someone is going through so you should always treat others with kindness, because that can go a long way and it can never hurt to just be genuine towards people. Despite the amazing and talented performances by all the actors, I believe others should watch and give this movie a chance. It truly is a sweet yet sad story and it can touch a lot of peoples hearts and has a strong message that is impactful and inspiring.
The story was great, I loved the realness of seeing how sometimes families only get together under those sad circumstances. The whole cast seemed to be casted perfectly for each role, I believe all the actors did a wonderful job portraying each character and you can really tell a difference between each as an individual. My favorite character would probably be Jennifer, the way she was holding a grudge against her grandfather but in a "I'll forgive but won't forget" kind of way because at the end of the day it is still family. I first heard of this movie because of Teri Polo. I grew up watching The Fosters so she definitely caught my attention!
