This film, the sequel to the Lego Movie, picks up five years after the events of Taco Tuesday and follows the heroes of Bricksburg as they face a new threat. When invaders from another world-LEGO DUPLO-arrive, they transform their vibrant city into a post-apocalyptic wasteland known as Apocalypseburg, a place drained of happiness and catchy music. After these mysterious invaders kidnap the strongest heroes and whisk them away to the Systar System-a realm where champions are tested on their skills and creativity-Emmet sets off on a daring mission to rescue his friends. Teaming up with a rugged space adventurer named Rex Dangervest, Emmet must restore harmony to the LEGO universe before Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi unleashes the dreaded "Armamageddon" and destroys both their worlds forever. Yet as the pieces fall into place, it becomes clear that this isn't just a battle between good and evil-but a challenge of identity, trust, and change. Emmet's greatest obstacle may not be a villain at all, but figuring out who's really in control of the story. Overall, due to its signature zany and meta LEGO humor (reminiscent of the games), clever and unexpected cameos from across multiple universes, a surprising and well-crafted twist, and an insightful, important message, this movie is quite good, and although it doesn't quite reach the originality or quality of the first film, and some of its original songs fall flat compared to the iconic "Everything Is Awesome , and it sidelines many of its background characters for the larger story, I still enjoyed my time with this feature and thought that it was a fun and excellent followup that reminds audiences-young and old alike-that imagination has no age limit. And for that reason, I'd happily watch hundreds more of these films, because they aren't just fun-they help us feel the joy and wonder of being a kid all over again.

This film is the third and final installment in the Venom series and follows Eddie and Venom on the run-on a road trip-from both the law and a new symbiotic threat: Knull, creator of the symbiotes. When his minions, the Xenophages catch up, they must stand against them, with the help of some new allies from both their worlds, in one "last dance" to save the universe before Knull shrouds it in complete darkness and threatens to tear the pair, and everything they've built, apart. Overall, due to spectacular fights (especially those featuring well-known and popular symbiotes from the comics), ultimately deep and emotional moments, amazing humor (particularly the buddy comedy scenes), and sensational effects (CGI, costumes, and makeup are all impressive), this movie is quite good-better than the second (Venom: Let There Be Carnage), but not as good as the original (Venom), and although it features a weak, underutilized villain in Knull (with his henchmen, the Xenophages, doing more and appearing more than he does), unneeded, underwritten, and at times very annoying side characters (most notably the road trip family), and it often gets stuck, overly focused on force-feeding viewers exposition, I enjoyed my time with this film, and thought it was a fun, though at times directionless, ending to the Venom franchise and a highlight in the continuation of the dying/dead Sonyverse.

This film, which is based on the short story by Stephen King, follows twin brothers Hal and Bill, who discover a toy wind-up monkey left by their father. But as they play with this "toy," it begins to kill their family and those around them. Because of this, they destroy it-but twenty-five years later, it has returned, this time in the hands of a sinister figure from Hal's past. Its killing spree has begun again. Now Hal, with his son, must stop the creature before it plays them out for good. Overall, due to its forced, and predictable twist, juvenile and unfunny humor, and painfully cringy moments, over-exaggerated and overacted performances, campy and disjointed tone, and cheesy, clunky dialogue, this movie is not good. And although there are a few redeeming qualities-such as brutal, visually impressive Final Destination-esque kills (though they are less satisfying, happen too quickly, and involve characters the film doesn't make us care about), and Maslany's performance as Lois Shelburn (although short-lived)-I wasn't a fan of this. Even though I so badly wanted to like it and love King and the original short, as well as Perkins' latest film Longlegs, This just fell flat in every way. It was not an enjoyable experience and was just too silly and over-the-top for me.
