A couple of cool episodes aside, Secret Level feels like a monument to mediocrity. The writing is painfully mid, dragging the whole show down despite the undeniably impressive visuals-though even those feel like reheated leftovers from a decade of superior video game cinematics. Honestly, what is this show trying to do or say that hasn't been done (and done better) by video game marketing in the past 10+ years?
The lineup of titles is baffling. Where are the big names? The absence of heavy hitters screams one thing: developers wanted no part of this trainwreck or were waiting to see if Season 1 could stick the landing. Spoiler alert-it didn't.
Short-form storytelling seems to completely elude the creators. What should have been tight, impactful, and memorable comes across as disjointed and uninspired. Variety called it an "uninspired snooze," and for once, Variety wasn't being harsh enough.
Secret Level is proof that flashy visuals can't hide a lack of vision, heart, or originality!

Awful film. Nothing good to say about it. The concept is cool, but it was a graphic novel so no points for the original concept. The question is was the director able to translate this story to screen and the answer is simply No!
Some scenes made me laugh out loud and not in a good way. Performances were cheesy and bad. Just cringey.
The whole movie feels like a music video. There is literally a music track in every scene and they arent good tracks. They dont go with the material.
Alot of these missteps are directorial. It's not good directing. It's amateur at best. And they are making a sequel nobody asked for.

It's utter insanity that this garbage film rates so high. I think people have been extremely generous with their scores even if they didn't like the film. 'First half was great and then it falls apart 6/10' that should have been rated under 5 as it's HALF A FILM!!!
Agreed film starts out promisingly but then our protagonist starts making so really REALLY stupid decisions.
Then it just goes from bad to worse. None of it makes ny logical sense.
Plot holes a plenty but oh no, that's fine for most of the people giving it 7/10 or above.
I honestly think peoples tastes are through the floor lately. The quality bar is so low that these trash movies are getting such high scores.
