  • Love uncovering new actors...

I was looking for something fun to watch to take the edge off and discovered this new Kevin James film. I'm a longtime Kevin James fan (since King Of Queens) but I REALLY love his action stuff and hope to see more. The real gift for me though in this film was the cast's unexpected performances. Christina Ricci took on a role unlike anything I've seen from her, and Francis Cronin, Kevin's Irish sidekick, was so very interesting to watch. Every time he appeared he was so interesting... blending a kinda wild intensity/vulnerability. Hopefully there is a sequel to this but either way I'm eager to follow Cronin's next film. Hope he does more. Highly Recommend.
Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine in The Apartment (1960)

I absolutely love this film. It is a timeless classic and should be considered one of the best films ever made. Tight storytelling and wonderful performances all round. Shirley McLaine not only does a marvelous job in her role, she is clearly one of the most beautiful women to grace the screen. The Apartment deals with love, friendship and human relationships on a level that is universally relatable. The ending is a little Hollywood but you feel so damn good, it works. This is a must see.

  • Good but a little forced.

Lee Remick and Charles Bickford turn in wonderful performances in this harrowing depiction of alcoholism. Although I enjoyed the film I felt the story and situations were a little contrived and forced and as much as I liked Jack Lemmon's performance I thought he too was a little over the top. It's worth watching but not Lemmon's best work.

  • LOOP is truly a LOOP

My brain is scrambled! This film definitely taunts your brain and keeps you guessing the whole way through...by the time you get to the end and it all begins to unravel you cannot help but feel you have been on some crazy "trip". What's even more amazing is that, as intriguing as it is, you begin to feel that there is no way to resolve the movie...but the answers indeed come and slam you when they do...I love discovering movies like this that operate on such a cerebral level and are done with so much painstaking detail. Once "you're in" you cannot turn it off...you just have to see what's coming next...Can't wait to see Lewnes next film...the guys a genius.
