First of all, I would like to praise the fantastic acting of James McAvoy. His portrayal of this character is near perfection. When I was watching it, I was appalled by his acting because he was able to transform to each of the different personality very convincingly. The detailed face expressions and complex gestures really bring the depth to this film. And not only James McAvoy, but Anya Taylor-Joy's acting is also immaculate. Her raw and fresh portrayal of this fear and grit is just so well-captured that me as an audience was literally about to go into the film because I felt so immersed.
The plot also does its job quite well, it's first of all, very unique and for me, I was hooked when I first read the outline of this plot and it met my high expectations to say the least. The plot has an interesting theory as well which I won't say for the sake of spoiling others.
Overall, this film deserves its success and I personally cannot find a criticism.

First off the start, the series' plot doesn't make the slightest of coherent sense, it is as if a highly inexperienced person with no background knowledge with the process of crime investigation wrote the script. Even from the first episode, the plot leaks and tweaks extremely, and the audience is left unsatisfied with the process. The police in the series might as well be useless since they literally don't do anything such as forensic science or asking any other witnesses and the case is closed without explaining the audience why.
The dialogues are bland, and they portrayed the characters as the usual generic ones. The main lead is supposedly this smart profiler, but she is portrayed with this expected personality of quirky, without a care for social norms and out of the world smart characteristics. The lead is way too fantasized. It lacks an authentic and realistic character delivery.
I was expecting a much better series, however, it is definitely not worth the hype since it has none of qualifiable qualities of mystery, suspense or twist.
