I thought this was a crime drama.
My eyes were rolling around in my head during the first few minutes of this episode.
Does the script writer really think that religious faith is tied to making your parents happy? Making yourself happy? Fact is it's about trust. Trusting in someone greater than yourself. I tuned out because I was afraid the next part of the storyline might involve politics!
The writers for Blue Bloods didn't always get it right. But they lasted FOURTEEN seasons. A nice mix of crime drama and family life with just a bit of politics (and then again sometimes too much) and breaking bread at the dinner table.

Want to like this show as a huge fan of Blue Bloods. Trying too hard to be culturally diverse. The age of the girl whose lucky guess that Springsteen is also known as "the Boss" would be more like 65-70, not 40, as Marcus commented, LOL; why not same actor who portrayed Sean in Blue Bloods?; loved seeing favorites Baez and Erin; skip the future family dinner scenes-Regan table inimitable.
