King Shekar Verma (Raj Kumar) a devotee of Hanuman does not like to girls and is against marriage, Jagamalla (Uday Kumar) is a friend of Shekar Verma who helps in taking care of the kingdom.
Pankaja Valli (Vandana), a powerful Emperess, falls for King Shekhara Verma (Raj Kumar) and expresses her desire to marry him. But Shekar Verma rejects the proposal.
However, later king Shekara Verma finds his love and marries a poor woman Mangala (Bharathi), Pankaja Valli hatches a vicious plan to take revenge against the Shekara Verma.
Pankaja Valli seeks the help of king's ministers to break the marriage of Shekara Verma and Mangala, so that she (Pankaja Valli) can marry King Shekara Verma. This leads to the separation of Shekara Verma and Mangala, and finally how Mangala and Shekara Verma reunite is the plot of the movie
Though Narasimharaju and Balakrishna have less time screen but both have done justice to their roles.

The story revolves around Hemavati (Pandaribai), who is the devoted wife of King Kailasanatha (Dr. Rajkumar), faces numerous hardships along with her two childrens when Kailasanatha loses his kingdom due to a drought.
Dr. Rajkumar and Pandaribai delivers an outstanding performance and breathes life into the character which is unparalleled.
Narasimharaju and G. V. Iyer both are outstanding, the comedy scenes between both of them will definitely make you laugh.
The music, composed by Padmanabha Shastri features some excellent songs, which adds value to the film.
M. Jayashree plays a negative role of Chanchaladevi, a cunning sister-in-law of Hemavati.
Dr. Rajkumar and Pandaribai delivers an outstanding performance and breathes life into the character which is unparalleled.
