An abundance of heart and soul in this movie. It's been a while since I've seen a movie that made me laugh and brought me to tears. I could almost smell the cooking out of my screen. This movie has some Hollywood powerhouses, still looking fabulous and flexing their acting chops. Vince Vaughn and Joe Manganiello are so likable and believable as life long friends. There is so much to love here in this movie based on a true story.
Perhaps the younger generation may not get all the nuisances of these nonnas and their rich history and knowledge, but for someone my age, it really hit home. If your grandmother taught you to cook, you will feel completely at home with this movie.

This updated series is an improvement on the original movie. Really hits home for those of us going through many years of marriage. Tine Fey is a great writer and doesn't pull any punches in revealing the challenges of marriage. I loved how the updated series focuses not only on marriage, but friendship and parenthood. Also, there's the fact that not every couple has the same issues or deals with their issues in the same manner. The series is funny and it was very sad also. The ending is unexpected if you saw the original but it's quite griping. I believe if you are 50+, you will be able to see yourself in one of the characters of this series.
