If you are a swede, there is about no plausible chance you have missed out on the real helicopter heist taking place in 2009. If you, adding to it, are also a true crime fan you have also already heard, seen and read everything there is to know about this heist. What this series do so well is to tell the story from an angle we haven't heard before: We're invited into the actual robbers minds and we spend at least four episodes on their backstories and characters. Ronnie Sandahl and the actors who met with and interviewed the robbers did a fantastic job in telling the stories, THEIR STORIES, in this mini series.
This series is obviously not produced with the intention to preach to the choir which is why I think there are so many critics being disappointed in that they didn't learn anything new about the heist from this series. Yet, the series does a great job inviting a whole new audience to take part in one of the most baffling heists in modern history.
The series is a masterpiece - sure with some flaws (they never explained who the locals in DR would be) but still the best production from Sweden since Chernobyl on HBO.
