I initially had my doubts that the third episode would rival the quality of the first two episodes, but all it did was drown those doubts into a more immersive experience. The cinematography still holds up and is shot beautifully to be put on par with preceding episodes, the animation and colour is still as vibrant as ever, and the characters continue to fascinate through their interactions and emotions. Marina-chan's character arc turns to a more tragic one, one which I say even rivals that of Shizuka despite being the antagonist. This anime continues to tell such an amazing story without needlessly adding several plot points or taking several grimdark risks to the point of desensitization.
Whether it's 38 minutes, 21 minutes or 26 minutes, each episode has managed to suck us in for a painful yet relatable and touching journey. 10/10.
