The Australian accents were an absolute joke. Completely ruined the sense of immersion. Some of them were even dubbed which begs the question. Why didn't they just cast Australian actors?
The overall production was all right. But this isn't a series for WW2 enthusiasts. It's more a nationalistic piece of ego massage for a Taiwanese audience which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as essentially any production dealing with war will no doubt portray it in a favourable lens for the country from which it's being made. It's just the thing that holds this back from being purely immersive and enjoyable was the acting. It felt more like day time soap than anything really harrowing exploring and bringing to light the unfairness of war.
