This documentary felt very relatable (I was born the middle of nowhere in Russia too and have left the country a couple of months before the Situation).
The work is done beautifully and portrays well the life of queer community in the before-war times.
The simple yet very detailed work of producer and, I wouldn't call it acting, of the main character really make a viewer experience each and every moment shown.
One of the most interesting element is the generational conflict between Soviet people and younger generations.
This distinction does exist and, unfortunately, leads to numerous problems and conflicts.
It's a deep-dive each and every human being to experience.

I am in doubts. How shall I evaluate this series...
The scenario is hauntingly perfect, the cast is incredible (even though I disliked the acting of main boy - perhaps because I don't have any kids nor I have siblings, so the attitude of a 13-year-old may be a a long forgotten memory of mine).
From the very beginning, I knew it wasn't him and had an idea of someone who simply put his clothes and resembled much his appearance).
During each and every episode my theory was growing on me and I had made-up justification in my mind.
Eventually, after finishing the series, I was a bit disappointed (or course I won't tell anything else).
But it is a must watch!
