Franky, this movie has no business being so good.
It's absolutely mind-blowing how good it is all things considered. Nicolas Cage turns it up to 11 and out-acts every one of the other actors with his hands literally tired behind his back and without saying one word.
He also makes sweet love to a pin ball machine (is it relevant to the story? No!), and shows us that he could have an incredibly popular ASMR cleaning YouTube channel if he wanted.
Since they must have blown their budget on Nick, the director does an excellent job with people in suits and puppets (puppetry is ON POINT!) for the animatronics. Seriously.
All the other actors and all of the dialog is just full on terrible. Everyone is just incredibly stupid. It's wild!
Anyway, great movie! Loved it!

I adored the books and its always strange to see a character you loved and recreated in your imagination portrayed by Alexander Skarsgard in the flesh but... I'm finally OK with it.
The episodes are definitely too short (a bad choice on the part of Apple, frankly), but the writing follows fairly closely the first book- with some minimal facilitating and glossing over. The CGI is good, the set design is good, costumes are good.
All of the casting/acting is very good, and I am loving the humans as much as Murderbot. I feel like Skarsgard is getting better at being Murderbot as we go.
In short: can't wait to see the rest of the episodes.

Personally, I really enjoyed this show from beginning to end!
Im not sure why everyone says the ending was just so so. I imagine because it didn't end like they wanted it to, or in the way they expected. Personally, I hate a cliche.
Shioban Cullen is hot as hell, too, that helped. But, I found all of the writing original and the acting top drawer. I liked our main trio's character development- which is the real story in the end- making the show like a true crime podcast in a lot of ways.
The show was also beautifully shot and never boring visually.
I recommended it to about a dozen people already.
