Live actions don't have a great track record especially when it comes to anime but man they really nailed this one. Inaki Godoy captures Luffy so well without feeling overly cartoonish. The other actors are great too but the Luffy casting was essential to the success of the show IMO. It's interesting to see Nami with high-level fighting skills but I think it makes sense given her success as a thief. Overall the adaption is incredibly loyal to the source material in a way that, against all odds, really works (so far). Hopefully this quality is sustained over the course of the season and if we're lucky, enough to warrant a season 2 in the grand line. Time will tell but for now take my 10/10!
This episode, while not majorly eventful, led to the first major domino that will surely dictate the course of the plot. Sort of like Robert dying in GoT (**not saying Viserys dies**).
Great acting, dialogue, cinematography... The pace and quality is akin to early GoT and I am all for it. My one suggestion is to not watch this episode with your parents, or children if you are a parent.
I want to give Milly Alcock a special shoutout because she doesn't have the resume as many of the other major characters, but she is absolutely killing it as Rhaenyra. The characters as a whole are expertly nuanced which really feeds into the gravity of each plot development.
8.8/10.

I don't normally post reviews but I was stunned to see this episode had none. It was a genuine masterpiece and easily the best of the series so far.
The marketing team must have been seriously under qualified or underfunded because Medici deserves far more recognition than it's been given.
