It just didn't stick the landing. Im a huge Stephen King Fan, unfortunately his adaptations are hit and miss. I don't think his voice translates as well on screen as it does on the page. I will say some of my favorite movies are Stephen King stories... Shawshank, stand by me, the shining and I am fingers crossed that "the long walk" hits the mark but I'm worried. Anyway Ive always though it was kings short stories that made the best films and this movie makes me was to read if it bleeds. Great movie, great message, best film I've seen this year
I just didn't like the ending.... I liked the final scene but I believe it shouldn't have been the last. In the theater I said "and roll credits" a second or two before they did but when they rolled I was like "I was joking" I enjoyed the film and it was good but it could've been great.
All I have to say from a man who spent considerable amount of time incarcerated in juvenile facilities in the system that aged out of foster care that total lives and positive life and prides myself as a movie buff
I found this film to be so extremely real and entertaining
Everyone did great the story was awesome the entire thing just hit hard.... I'm so happy to have seen it at cinequest film festival and that I got to here it's start speak about his approach to art. I really enjoyed this film. The cinematography was great the scenery was beautiful, the story was well written, and the young actors worked so well together... What a positive film.
Pretty much this and a pursuit of happiness are the most relatable movie I've seen to a period in my life that though hard played a big roll in making me the man I am today. Living in any major city in American can be tough high rents, low wages, marital issues... It's really tough to be a single parent especially if you don't have grandparents or family support. Watching this women sprint to a train, hustle at work, rely on the blessings of dumb luck to get home and back to work is exactly the agst and anxiety that was my life for over a decade. This film is honest and tough to watch at moments. The director did a great job of making every moment feel tense and rushed..... Because that's what it feels like in that situation always. Here are two all the hardworking good parents building trampolines in the dark when they have to get up early..... Great movie.
