  • 10 out of 10 in every way

I was scrolling through just trying to find something to kill time, came across this and was like sure why not. OMG I have not laughed this hard for so long.

First 5 mins in, I restarted and told my husband that he needs to watch this. Not only the art and design is great, the plot is so funny to every little detail they chose. It really blown my mind as a creative professional myself. I've watched a lot of movies and this is seriously one of the best movies that I've seen in the recent years. Its just so adorable and creepy but in a very funny and clever ways.

I would suggest this to adults and children, I would totally watch it again and see if there's anything I missed :)

  • I texted my BFF to not waste her time watching this

First of all, I am a fan of Josh Hartnett and was very excited to watch this movie. And what a disappointment it was, not Josh Harrnett's fault though, his creepiness actually is the only thing going for this movie.

Without giving away much, let's just say there's a lot of unnecessary singing scenes with mediocre performance and I was very confused of the choices of this whatever looking actress that can't act, so I looked up IMDb real quick, turns out she's the daughter of the director! Now it all make sense... daddy basically wrote a shatty movie and put his nepo baby in it with a legit actor to carry it.

    The writing, horrible.

    The whole story, horrible.

    The dialogue, horrible.

    The plots, make no sense.

At one point I asked my husband is this movie like a Disney or Nickelodeon production for kids? Which is actually quite insulting even for Disney standards nowadays.

But yeah, even with A list Josh Hartnett, I wouldn't rate this more than 2. If we didn't have him, this would be like a -3! I watched this on HBO, if this is in the movie theater, I would either need a refund or just watch another movie instead.

  • Ummm nope! Don't waste your time

I watch this because I'm a fan of Jesse, he's one of the most versatile actors that always manages to surprise me.

I've seen Poor Thing which I am aware of the unique style of the director. But this? It's just being weird for being weird's sake. Don't get me wrong, I love movies and seen a whole lot throughout the years and seen even more during my cinema history classes era. But this one is just shallow, empty, got nothing interesting to say. Kinda reminded me of high school that some kids being weird not because they have something unique to say or misunderstood, but really there's just copying people's uniqueness without the substance.

I can't even finish it and it just bored me. I've seen really slow burn movies, but at least there was some sort of build up to it or something interesting.

And again, this is not one of them. Or at least I do not care about the nonsense it's trying to say. Unfortunate!
