I couldn't finish it. I made it to the last 15 minutes and just couldn't finish it. I come from a family that was broken, and this was just too close to the bone for me. Children are collateral damage in some relationships, especially relationships that start off with immature young people who need the journey of self discovery before having the responsibility of children. That's the primary message in the movie. The standout scene for me was when Leda's young daughter just wanted her to kiss her finger better, and she wouldn't do it and cuddle the child and make ger happy. That's all it would've taken. That's all a child needs, the feeling of security, comfort, being loved. Leda felt " smothered". I get it . Every parent has felt the exhaustion of too much. But this character abandons her kids at every turn for her higher brow intellectual journey and it turned my stomach.

People are given the gift of children as a privilege in life. Some people don't deserve that privilege. I didn't sympathise with Leda, whatsoever. And I had to turn it off. I just wanted her to kiss her child better.
