Nathan Fielder once again gives neurotypical people the intimate experience of what it is like to live in a neurodivergent's world, this time with a lot more intimacy; and, I could not have been more delighted to feel so seen on TV. The entire episode is so full of nuance and approached with such sensitivity, that even when the intent is humorous the outcome is nothing less than heartfelt. If you watch this and find it full of cringe, I beg you to examine your viewpoint and ask yourself "Why do I think this way?". Because, I promise you, there are many people out there in this world who Nathan Fielder specifically made this show for, and every single one of them are praising him for challenging allistic perspectives for what's considered "normal" and offering a newer way of thinking that's more inclusive without being exploitative.
I understand why people are upset with this show...believe me, I have my person complaints. However, I don't think anybody new to the Resident Evil universe should look at the bad ratings of this show and be deterred. From what I can tell, many of these reviews do not reflect the quality of the show itself and, instead, are based on fans perception of what they hoped this show to be.
I love Resident Evil! I was definetly looking forward to one of the first live-action retellings of the franchise in multiple years. I for sure enjoyed the time I spent watching this show and seeing the hidden easter eggs for fans of the series to catch on! However, it was very clear this show was not meant for me; and, that's just something which I have to learn to be ok with.
Was the heavy use of modern music in the show a little off-putting? Yes, however I know that that was there to help engage younger audiences. Was the special effects a little cheesey? Sure, but when is a sci-fi project not a little cheesey at times! Is this a perfect installment into the Resident Evil franchise? Absolutely not! I honestly don't think I've seen a perfect Resident Evil movie yet; but, that doesn't take away from the fun, which I most certainly had with this show.
So, if you are new or relatively new to the Resident Evil universe and are curious about it, why not give this show a try! The first episode is literally an hour, so if you hate it, no big deal! But, who knows, you might just really enjoy it and now have dipped your toe into one the of the world's most beloved horror franchises!

I really loved How I Met Your Mother, and it is because of my love for that show which brought me to watching this new rendition. I understand the need for shows about dating in the modern age, and How I Met Your Mother seems so far removed from from relevance in that field that a spinoff seems like the right move! However, How I Met Your Father feels like such a horrible replacement! Just analyzing the show as it is, I would not recommend it to honestly anybody. Even though there are some important themes and messages the show is trying to portray, it is hard to catch on them or find them to be meaningful in anyway when any important moment is immediately followed by a below-subpar joke that just ruins the whole scene altogether. Even though the story was bad, sometimes I can still enjoy a TV show if the characters are at least fun or relatable, but once again that is not the case! I honestly can't pick a favorite or least favorite character amongst the whole bunch because every one leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The humor feels like it was written by prepubesent 12 year-olds that were then edited by adults to just make sure they're remotely grammaticly correct. I hope the remainder of the show will find some more heart, but until then they are just picking around the empty shell that once was it immensely-better predecessor. If you do choose to watch, do so with caution, and good luck.
