It's a very boring plot and it feels creepy like at any time somebody's going to murder someone else. There's a lot of quietness and passion and kissing and other things like that. Whoever wrote this is mad at oil companies. There's a very subtle reference to oil companies being bad for, the Earth without really saying that. And, what happened to the village? Why did it get ruined. I am I missed it. Maybe it was in the subtitles which I don't like reading I really would not have watched this movie. Clear to the end, except I already paid for it . My bad. It's like Be grade movie script I used to watch while dating at the drive-in theater because I wasn't interested in watching the movie in the first place.
Does anybody else think that Mr. Miller's daughter looks like Ivanka Trump? Was that intentional? The black young man was very compelling. What a great up-and-coming actor. Susan Sarandon was fabulous as always, and she looks 40 and fabulous. I think she's maybe older than that. Very surprising twist and turns. It's hard to give a review without giving spoilers. I disliked, Mr. Miller so much but I think you're supposed to feel that way and yet You tend to understand his position, but not in reality. He's an immoral guy. His character., excessive vulgar language quite frankly. But some people wouldn't mind it.
I watched this on television in black and white in 1975. I had just married and it was one of the first shows we watched together at our apartment in the hot summer. It was interesting and moving. Entertaining for sure. I remember a lot about it. Highly recommend it. Compared to today, this was wholesome but I might've overlooked stuff back then. It was on regular tv so it couldn't have been too bad. Maybe a little strong language; maybe not. Such dramatic moments based on a true story. Gotta love it. One of his best movies. I don't really go for gangstuh movies but this one was easy to watch and not scary.
