What were they thinking? How can anyone justify throwing money at such an awful series?
The characters are not only unbelievable, they are unlikeable. The acting is also very poor.
As for the 'science', the premise may well be plausible but the sequence of events are not.
The speed of a tsunami is so much faster than shown here. There is a scene where people in a rubber dinghy try to outrun an enormous tidal wave and somehow manage to turn the corner into a cove and watch as the wave passes by. They then sit in a beach where the water hasn't risen at all! People in a plane completely swept away by a wave are somehow ok. There are so many childish scenarios - it's an insult to the intelligence.

Having now seen a few of these Scandinavian drama series I see a pattern emerging. They start with an initial idea and storyline that are both promising and thought provoking. But then the plot sequencing and the acting let the whole enterprise down.
This is a perfect example. It's a fascinating concept that our personal computers and gadgets will soon develop into a life-sized home help and even into a robot with emotions enough to form a meaningful relationship. Also the concept that of course the technology finally tips over the threshold to self awareness and consequently danger.
However, the series lets itself down with some very poor oversimplified and unbelievable human characters like the vicar for example.
The plot twists are often infantilised and seem to have been thought of on the back of a fag packet the night before, several beers in.
As for the performances of the cast : the acting is hardly above school play level.
Such a shame because it could have been brilliant.

When I first started watching this I found it quite funny. The snappy script ran along with some witty interplay between the characters. The premise of the plot was quite promising.
However, once the slight will-they-or-won't-they-get together tension dissipates it settles in to the typical 'I'm so wacky, how could you ever put up with me' tropes we usually see. With the female character being just insecure enough to be kinda cute. Oh but wait. It's not just sickly sweet, there is a cutting edge. Let's have a sex shop scene!
The whole plot is just really sickly. The brother provides a few moments of humour but generally it's about as intellectually demanding as the back of a cereal packet. That would be ok, goofy comedy can be great, but only if the central characters are likeable.
