I watched this because I really like Maggie Lawson and Janel Parrish. I'll say up front, the movie is not your typical rom-com. The story is fresh and unusual for Hallmark. The movie is about a women's (Maggie Lawson) desire for the perfect Christmas with family. She makes a wish and Sugarplum (Janel Parrish), a movie character appears to help. Sugarplum has rules and and expects everything to follow the rules, when it doesn't happen as planned, chaos occurs.
Sugarplum, aka Sue Gar Plum, is highly amusing. The movie was unexpected and hilarious.
I really enjoyed the added characters played by Victor Webster and Fiiona Gubelmann.

I watched this movie because I really like Amy Groening and Robert Buckley. I was really excited to see that Hallmark finally gave Amy Groening a major role.
The movie premise was original. The movie was hilarious and heartwarming. The story was about two very sad and lonely people who had a good support system, but needed something in their lives. Amy Groening's family provides a group of entertaining and hilarious people. Robert Buckley character is funny, but sweet as always. His facial expressions in this movie are classic.
I hope Hallmark continues to give Amy Groening major roles. There have been multiple Hallmark movies where she was the best thing in the movie.

I was super excited to see a new Curious Caterer. I've read all the books and enjoy seeing them made into movies. I'll say up front, having watched the commercials for the movie, I was a little worried I might be tuned off by Nikki DeLoach's but it worked for her. This movie is a must see.
The story was a good mystery. It offered a lot of twists, but kept one involved and interested in the movie. The regular cast and the guest cast did a great job.
The chemistry between Andrew W. Walker and Nikki DeLoach was fantastic.
I'm really hoping they continue this series. It rivals Mystery 101 and Aurora Teagarden.
