I actually enjoyed this movie! The cast really played off of each other well and embodied their characters nicely. If it weren't for the reshoots and 'rona, this movie could have been amazing! Unfortunately, it's just okay. And with Fox getting bought by Disney, I would say the likelihood of a sequel is slim to none. Which sucks because I would love to see these characters again. Also, Charlie Heaton's Kentucky accent is kinda all over the place. Like it would be thick in one scene and then just slight in others. Probably because of the reshoots.
The two leads clearly have great chemistry but the story drags a lot. Also, weird karaoke scene. It was a good movie but I wouldn't want to watch it again.
I'm not the best with words, but this short film is amazing. Yes, some of the dialogue at the beginning is a bit cringe, but the overall message comes through. Be prepared to cry a lot. Black Lives Still Matter. This better win an Oscar!
Edit: So it did win an Oscar but unfortunately they plagiarised the whole premise off of Cynthia Kao from 4 years earlier.
