Aaawww..if I could, I would watch this Japanese series again and again. There is just something so heart warming about the contestants in this series.
Compared to other Western reality shows, like Love Is Blind and Love Island with their blatant sexuality, and contestants scheming behind each other's backs, the 10 participants here are so wholesome and supportive of each other. The furthest they went was to hold hands and a kiss on the forehead. Haha.
They are always decently dressed, many in beautiful vintage wear and are just so stylish and beautiful. There is no need for any of them to be sexily dressed to be likeable and attractive.
The gorgeous background of Nice and it's neighbouring communes of Cannes, Grasse , Eze etc just made this series all the more attractive and watchable. Photography was top notch and picture perfect, it made me want to savour all the food they ate, visit the vintage stores and amazing cafes and walk the cobblestone streets of Nice. Well done on promoting the South of France as a beautiful tourist destination!
And now to the 10 contestants - basically, they are all attractive people. None oozing sex appeal but so adorable in their own way. Of course, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses, and some are unfortunately more irritating and attention seeking than others but it's all in good fun.. I have my firm favourites - Kanaka, Nanami, Kensuke, Sho and Yudai.
Do watch it and enjoy! I didn't think I would love it that much, but I was hooked from the start! It's one of those series that saw me laughing out loud many times with the funny commentaries by the 3 joyfully funny commentators, despite totally relying on subtitles..the humour is not lost!
I wish the best for all the participants - for those who paired up and those who didn't, and I really look forward to a Part 2!!

It's one of those series to watch to pass the time..it's not too bad,but sadly it's not too memorable either. Acting by the main actor, Kevin McKid I thought, was good - moody, and brooding but unfortunately I felt Vinette Robinson was overacting - I understand she was supposed to be angry and stressed but she came out unlikeable...i didn't enjoy watching the initial scenes with her in it..she only became likeable at the end.
The story line was interesting- juxtaposing a recent incident to a similar one from long ago, with the involvement of political figures in it. The back story of Scotland's quest for independence was also highlighted in this series but it's not something I understand much of, so that bit was lost on me.

An excellent miniseries.
The stellar cast wirh realistic acting and the pace of the series were very well executed. Although there were plenty of moments of conversations, it wasn't at all dull. All 6 episodes kept me glued to the TV. And on that note, it's always a pleasure to watch something that does not show sex or violent crime scenes - not a single shot was fired throughout. That's why I always appreciate British productions against American ones, as they leave more to the audience's imagination.
Some of the cast are familiar to me, Hugh Bonneville for one. But i must say they all acted very well and believably. It's an excellent retelling of the gold heist, with of course some bits of fiction added in, but after checking with the real incident, it stayed almost true to the real heist.
Will there be a Season 2?? Can't wait for the next episodes!
