There's Someone Inside Your House is yet another teenage slasher where a group of American high school seniors is picked off one by one by a masked killer. The premise is classic, but unfortunately, the film brings nothing new to the table.
The story unfolds in a familiar pattern: each character has some kind of "dark secret," and as soon as it's revealed to the audience - cue the knife. Eventually, the killer takes off the mask, and you'd expect some kind of twist... but no. The reveal is completely emotionless because by that point, it could've been anyone. Every character is so weighed down by their personal drama, it seems like any one of them had a reason to kill.
The real focus here seems to be less on horror and more on the overblown personal issues of these teenagers - who aren't even 20 yet, but already drowning in crime, hatred, and mental breakdowns. It feels like the movie was trying to be a teen drama with a moral rather than a proper horror. Only the moral gets lost somewhere between the second and third murder.
There's nothing scary about this film. The atmosphere doesn't work, there's no suspense, and the finale falls flat. If you're a teenager and around 15, maybe you'll like it. Everyone else - skip it.
