Look my wife watches a ton of these "garbage" rom com movies. Which I'm not here to dump on people enjoying, heckninwatch half of them with her, and while objectivly bad, they server their purpose: to be a little bit of fluff that is enjoyable despite itself.
The acting is about the same as 90% of the other rom com movies, follows the same formula that many others do, and had primarily white casts of hot, but only "halmark" hot actors.
So why am I bothering to give this one a bad review while I'm letting all the others slide? Because it's called: "a slice of Chicago romance" they specifically choose a location known for pizza, and even made a point to say the difference between NY and Chicago Pizza, is that Chicago Pizza tastes like home, and then they proceeded to never once make or show a Chicago Pizza! You can't choose a whole premise of a location known for a very specific style of Pizza, and then ignore that said very specific style of pizza!

I watch the original suicide squad with high hopes I heard the panning, but surely it couldn't be that bad (but it was) this soft reboot or continuation but not a continuation, whatever you want to call it worked so much better. The team felt more expendable, we actually got to see characters on screen and be invested in them before they got killed, and with such a large cast it kept you guessing. Harley was vastly improved over the first, fixing her relationship with the joker, and toning down those terrible tattoos from the first. Being emotionally invested in such a throwaway character like polkadot man (yes I know he was in the old comics) was definitely one of the biggest and most plesent surprises. I love the commitment to keeping it weird, and violent.
I never watched the original cut of justice league, I watch a lot of super hero movies, it just wasn't one I was in any rush to watch. Then I saw how much hbo advertised the "Snyder cut" and how the fans said it was so good. So I watched it, and I just wasn't impressed. I commited to watching it in one sitting and did. The movie felt both rushed and way to long. It felt boring and not much of substance was going on, I had heard Martian manhunt wasn't in original, and he was a character I was interesting in learning more about, but honestly completely un needed and I can see why he was cut. I just wasn't interested in cyborgs story at all (doom patrol cyborg is way more captivating) the superman fight was contrived, and the flashes whole slowmotion scene sucked so bad I couldn't help but laugh at how awful and date rapey it felt.
Everyone is allowed their own taste but to me this didn't live up to the hype, and the cult following just makes it even more unsuferable. There are deffently better DC movies out there.
