What a sensitively portrayed and non sensationalised piece of drama, highlighting DA towards men. Very little is known about it but the problem is much bigger than you think. Congratulations to Writer/Director Benjamin Timothy Gobey, and to the super cast who brought this story to life. Mollie Mullins certainly created a sense of unease from the outset and we couldn't help but feel that Josh ( played by Luke McArthur), was in for a tough ride.

It was filmed in Cheltenham and despite being a low budget project, it packs a punch in an understated way. There are many organisations that exist to help those men who find themselves trapped in an abusive relationship, such as the great work carried out by the Mankind Initiative. We need more stories like these to throw light on a lesser known problem.

What a moving story, beautifully told and played by the central characters. Richard Dee Roberts. (writer and director), has a great onscreen presence as the Reverend and the rapport between him and the central female protagonist. ( Anna Simpson, as played by Anna Scherliess), is clear to see.

At times difficult to watch as her discomfort at being singled out in public, vocally abused by strangers and physically abused by her husband, was palpable.

A very endearing performance from Judith Paris as Mrs Evans the housekeeper. She moved me to tears a couple of times as did the film as a whole.

An unexpected ending too which is always satisfying.

With super locations which really enhanced the overall feel of the piece, we would definitely recommend this film on many levels. Congratulations to all involved.

  • Atmospheric gothic tale

Well worth waiting for this release. With some terrific locations, and some great performances, the 16th century fear of witchcraft and life at that time was perfectly captured. A tremendous amount of work and research has gone in to creating this film. Some great vfx by Reece Sanders ( loved the apparitions), excellent sound ( something that can let a film down) and super scoring ( Imran Ahmad), all of which really helped enhance the atmosphere. A strong cast, authentically costumed by Jenny Anderton. Congratulations to Directors Mark Zammitt, Craig Hinde and all involved. Well worth watching.👏
