Great movie if you are looking for a spiritually fulfilling Christian parable. But if you are looking for a biopic of a college football hero who could have been a legend, this may not be what you are looking for. The script was written as more of a love story to the Christian god than in memory of a kid who worked his ass off to achieve his dreams and had his story sadly cut short. Props to the cast for a performance that did a lot to edge out the cringe factor. The family dynamic was well acted, I really enjoyed Nick Searcy's work, and it would have been a better movie if Chris Severio was given more time to shine on screen. Overall, I don't regret watching it, but I do wish I knew ahead of time that I was about to spend 130 mins getting preached at.
a terrible movie. The plot is so thin and ridiculous I almost thought it was one of those God-botherer movies. The acting seemed forced and painful to watch, the lead actors had no chemistry whatsover. The characters are so poorly contrived, there is very little likable about any of them. Oh, and whoever wrote the song 'Running over Raymond' needs to quit this industry immediately. I wish my dog hadn't sat on the remote so I could have turned this off sooner.
