Though it was made sixteen years ago, there still weren't a lot of movies like this then, and even fewer of them now.
Movies about believable, relatable human characters have somehow been replaced by the bigger franchises, and that's too bad. I wish there was room for more films like this.
The cast is great throughout. Even smaller roles, like the one played by John Slattery, are filled by outstanding actors. McCarthy has gone on to make much bigger films from this one, but this remains my favorite of his.

Some people might not ever sit through a movie where they don't recognize the actors, but if you can get past that, this is something to try. Very relatable. A nice story with solid acting. Nothing fancy, but good laughs, character development, and a lot of heart.
