I personally don't undestand the 9 and 10's this show is getting. I guess some people are just easily entertained. It is made in the same mockumentary style as Parks & Rec.
While that show was actually hilarious due to the antics of Ron Swanson, Andy & April.
I found this show to be rather dull and boring and limit irritating to watch.
I gave the show a shot but afte watching 3/4 of the first season i still didn't find any of the characters interresting enough to get me hooked and wanting to continue watching it.
It certainly had some potential but the end result just isn't that great on the humour side.

The real facts and history of the Tudors is filled with drama and is imo interesting enough to be depicted as the real story goes.
But like usual hollywood prefers to make a total mess of things and invent and alternate reality that doesn't make sense and is full of blatant historical innacuracies like characters tavelling in 18th century coaches with springs & many other such details.
For me the best approach for historical drama is still following what has been well documented and eventually fill the eventual gaps with something plausible. Not use the historical characters and make your own invention of events.
The series is certainly not lacking good actors, but the main role of Henri VIII didn't do it for me. Henri VIII was tall (1,88m) and bulky towards the end. Although he certainly has charisma this actor is too small and thin to be credible to me. Also were is the beard??
I guess the romcom people will enjoy this series very much but people like me who like some accuracy in historical depictions will have a hard time to get past season 1.
