Exceptionally well written, as if it was written for stage. Each episode is self contained and essentially covers a single scene from the longer time frame the series covers. Each episode is so rich and captivating. It peels layers of the various lead character's story. It doesn't tell. It reveals through dialogue and emotion. And the acting is superb all round.
At the outset that be a natural tendency for the mind to wonder where this is going and second guess the ending, and the series allow you to do that and yet the ending couldn-t be more poignant, and fitting and unlikely to be one you would ever guess.
The key theme of the series is so important at the present time; whilst it covers diverse themes, perhaps the most important is that of the impact on children of their parents upbringing. Generational baggage gets passed down. Each parent tries to do better for their children. And most do, but it doesnt mean you've fully broken the chain for the next generation. The series should make every parent ask what is your "stuff" that you are subconsciously passing on to your children? How will they handle it? Will they handle it?

Dear me. Talk about an unnecessary groundswell. In 2 years time noone will remember this movie aside from those were in it!
So the basic plot: spoilt juvinile meets girl in stripclub and after 4 minutes in a drunken drug hazed stupour decides to propose, to which she says yes. Parents not happy. Shock horror. And the rest of the film is about her coming to terms with her poor investment in a false reality.
Utterly ludicrous plot and characters who deserve little to no sympathy. The lead is full of entitlement and anger throughout. Not a model citizen or character. And whilst the lead performance is strong - best of the year?
Overall well crafted movie but it made the most basic story into something much more than it deserved credit for. And some might say thats its genius, whilst others will be more discerning.

So very much wanted to like it. But the bits I liked were the actors performances and not so much the story; the plot is full of holes.
It had all the potential to be great with a cast that could execute, though it was too contrived, dialogue and interactivity between actors didnt flow especially in the jury deliberations.
Worse still it feels like an obvious ripoff of 12 angry men, with deliberate attempts differentiate. Fail.
The biggest shame though is if this is Clint's last film contribution. A true giant of cinema and his touches are felt during the movie but the script and story just not his strongest work.
