Formulaic story with a curveball ending.
The Good: Yosemite National Park takes the prize, and I wish there were more majestic long shots of the wilderness.
It was definitely a missed opportunity to make the environment a major character in the story. Instead, it's a story that could have taken place practically anywhere.
The Bad: The writing is mediocre, making the characters predictable and boring, despite good efforts by the actors.
There are way too many sub-plots that don't add anything substantive to the main story. It's a sign of bad writing when these elements are added to any story.
Verdict: Started off super interesting but quickly became boring.

"KPop Demon Hunters" is humorously subversive and a funny but brutal commentary on not only its own industry but teenage culture and the fan-base as well.
Kids will enjoy the beautiful animation, well-drawn characters, and songs. Older teens and parents (if they're not too tired) will hopefully see and enjoy the embedded satire.
That good: Well-voiced acting. Good dialogues. Catchy tunes.
The bad: The plot is predictable and a bit cliche. But that is not to say it's not good. It isn't bad.
There's a moment early on in the movie when the girls first meet the boys, and it's hilarious.
A rare win for Netflix.

It's best not to think too much about the plot. Don't do that, and you'll find the movie quite fun.
Bryce Howard, Orlando Bloom, and Nick Mohammed make for a believable trio; their chemistry works! Sean Bean, of course, is always a pleasure to see on screen. Paddy Considine and Sonoya Mizuno are also very able in their supporting roles.
The plot serves its main purpose of letting all the above actors play off each other. The dialogues are serviceable; the real gem here are the situations that the trio find themselves in. It's all so predictable, but nonetheless at times amusing.
If there's any major critique, it is that I wish the movie would have taken more chances and try to subvert our expectations - including maybe even for Sean Bean?
