Anna Kendrick did an incredible job in this film. I'm used to seeing her play characters with a sense of mixed sadness and humor, but this role is different. There's no comedy here; it focuses on verbal abuse in a relationship, which is a serious issue. You don't fully grasp the gravity of it until you've experienced it firsthand. Outsiders might view the abuser as perfect and even envy the relationship until they witness how the person treats you.
I was fortunate to recognize what was happening early on, within the first three months. Nobody has the right to make you feel less than you are. This movie hit home for me, and while I wouldn't say I "enjoyed" it-because it's far from a feel-good story-I recommend it. It's a powerful watch, but maybe not the best choice when you're looking for a laugh.

This movie was such a cute movie. I can't even describe it. Andrew Bowser who played Onyx the Fortuitous did such an amazing job. He made the movie. I watched this movie in the background while I was working, and it was simple to follow even not watching 100% what was on the screen. It was also nice to see Terrence C. Carson. Who played Mr. Duke. I loved him on the TV sitcom Living single.
This movie is not going to be for everyone. I'm sure some people will not connect with this style of humor, or the character of Onyx at all.
If you like corny dad jokes, 80s movie, people talking strangely then you will like this movie, and I will recommend it.
