  • Not a superhero film but a supernatural one

The film reminded me of the Preacher TV series that aired many years ago. So, it was not a surprise. Film techniques used were very simple and felt like watching a continuation of what Basil last executed with his superhero film without crossing any boundaries set by him. And, by the way, this is a supernatural film and not a superhero one. I also liked the use of neon lights to give a comic book feel, seemed like well-used. I have always felt that the lead actress is someone who does not have the skills or aesthetics to be in the industry, and is a prime example of nepotism. They are given continuous opportunities to master the craft, and often the films are a vehicle for them than them pushing the content. There were very clear moments of that lack of skill but she in a way is apt for the role, especially for conveying there is something weird going on with the person. Though, Naslen seemed to have channeled his classic style and it was very suitable for the role. Chandu also seemed to have finally found his comfort zone and role-position like Balu with this one. From the initial graphics, I also thought there would be a cameo of Murali Gopy. Anyhow, it's an alright movie but does it have the ammunition to successfully put audience on seats in the future is a highly doubtful thing, people could get easily bored, especially if it's the same low-budget, inorganic stunts and formula. Though, I have to say the stunts really worked with the small girl sequence, it's only an issue if the same is done by older adults. I would recommend to stream it, or to go watch it if you like to see something flashy without expecting much of a story or for seeing Naslen's little grumbles and out of place murmurs. But, I seriously believe this would have worked better if it were a series that made people wait for each week for new episode's.

  • Reminds me of Raised by Wolves

The first two episodes tries to brainy and follows the ingredients that other shows have used, it heavily reminded me of Raised by Wolves. And, overall, I don't feel like it's better, it's just a stretched out series of the core plot. Though, since nothing else is there, it's a fair time-kill. Personally, I am tired of seeing old stuff being rehashed, and feels like creativity is dead since the 2000s. Why can't there be new science fiction stuff? I get it, catering to a nostalgic generation is popular on social media, and if they're not fed properly, they can drag one down.

  • Not sure about the spreading negativity...

It was an alright film, it had it's moments, especially in 4DX. Sure it had some yapping going on as fillers, most films nowadays have it, and I believe it's timed, and adding 2-3 such segments is the current standard. Does that make it campy, I don't think so. I would have appreciated if the current, actual global affairs were reflected rather than hiring Indians to depict a fictional country, that was a bit nonsensical and felt no effort was taken on that bit. Things that didn't felt good was the fact that there was no strong motive for Lex to want that place, should have just made about his envy or something else. I also didn't get why hawk girl was screeching, it didn't seem to do anything. I also was unsure about Super-girl/woman, I didn't get her character and the story about her dog, maybe they should have first made a movie with her and her pet. I can tell you here, the animation isn't bad as the flash film, and say that I am unsure about how this is connected with being an immigrant story, or are they saying Superman is an immigrant, not sure and the movie itself doesn't push such notions. There is a funny scene depicting internet's actual trolls and short segments that show how tech-bros/sisters function in real world, and again it's an alright movie. If it's possible to enjoy it in theaters, do so. Don't expect laugh out loud moments, just some exciting scenes, short segments of humanistic elements, and 2-3 quotable quotes.
