The other reviewers, giving this a low grade are on target. Like I care who they were screwing.
I watched well into it until I couldn't take anymore. Whoever thought they were perfect?
But when the contributors of this production are from Columbia University and the rest of the left-wing state owned acadummia, just get ready to throw up.
Disgusting soap opera, most of which is purely speculative. The producers and writers of this tripe, are not remotely interested in the fact that the founding fathers created the greatest country on the planet. In fact, if they thought you'd believe it, they'd deny it.
Sorry jokers, ya can't rewrite history.

Ok, nice mysterious beginning with a fairly believable build up. They took their time.
North Pole sets were really excellent. I don't imagine this was a big budget flick. Both the temporary barracks (living quarters), and the desolate frozen plain where the "dig" was done, had great atmosphere.
Dialog was cute. Buddy-buddy and familiar military friend chatter was ok.
First things first: Margaret Sheridan, up there at the North Pole as a classified information- cleric/aide of some kind. Also, the object of our star's affections. She was written well. Pert, funny, playful, yet a devout pro in her job.
And wow was she gorgeous. I'd like have met her up there, just so I could ask her; "So doll, ya come here often?"
So here's the only clokey part of the production.
First, the "Thing" was almost indestructible. Cool. I'm ok with that. Incredible technology of course to fly here and hide its craft under the ice. Nice. It seemingly was infected lots of stuff with its alien spores, mild and or fungus. Works for me.
WHY THEN, with all that going on, when confronted, he looks, acts & sounds like an angry deaf-mute that had too much to drink.
James Arness played the angry mummy thing. Throwing people around, and beaten up on dogs.
Hilarious.

I've never heard of this movie and I was born about the time it was released.
Turned it on Thanksgiving night of 2025 after my honey had crashed.
I didn't realize it was a musical until they broke out in song.
Dr. Seuss storyline is OK. I never read the book so I can't compare it.
I will say this. The sets are pretty extraordinary in this movie. And for being as old as it is, the quality of the production or at least the print, I viewed, was amazing.
Yes, I recommend for a one time watch just to appreciate the change of pace of this movie is.
I thought I knew the star, the kid. Turns out he was Timmy on the show Lassie for a jillion years.
Thx
Bob.
