This is already on my comfort rewatch list.
It's ultimately a love story, and makes me reminisce my old rockabilly days. All the characters were like people I knew (and drank with).
Michael Shannon deserves a Best Supporting Actor for his monologue around the fire.
Hardy has that electric energy every time he comes onto screen.
Butler nailed this role as the man with "one foot out of the covers at all times".
Comer was the friend you always wanted to drink and smoke with.
The story is shot like a series of snippets - our memories (fond and not-so-fond), captured in photos and brought alive as we replay the characters and moments in our lives.

Stylistically refreshing for a murder mystery comedy. I found myself laughing and repeating lines throughout the evening.
Though I've studied WWII for much of my life, I found this series to be a good, concise description of key events. While it does not go into great depth, it still manages to pack in enough detail with empathetic insights from both Axis and Allied viewpoints. It's an excellent refresher or starting point for key events, which will hopefully engage the viewer to research further.
My only qualm was that the series ends abruptly, with no conclusion/summary. I'd be interested to see a 2nd season into the Cold War, as is hinted at the end of Ep.10.
