I recorded this by accident. I was all set for Charlton Heston going at it with Stephen Boyd, horses crashing around. To my surprise I got the 'not a blockbuster' version. I was even more confused to see Xerxes playing Jesus and Morgan Freeman just for gravitas. All very confusing.
Silliness aside, it just doesn't grip you or have any really memorable scenes. The script is flat and impactful scenes limited. My advice is simple, actually follow the orginal story and give us some cinematic bling just like 300, Gladiator, God's of Egypt etc do. It's a simple formula. Plus a memorable score helps too. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more than me. I wanted to like it. Honest.

Let set out my stall. I love a good high strangeness documentary. So much so, I bought a VPN just so I could watch in the USA, as its unavailable in the UK right now.
I came across reference to this show after watching an episode of Beyond Skinwalker Ranch. So I had expectations of an interesting documentary.
Instead I was met with an array of desert legends, with intermittent segways from the entertaining Ken Layne and less entertaining others. No interesting footage, just generic graphics at one point an image of British Typhoons is used to illustrate USA jets chasing a UFO in the desert; just sloppy. The odd ernest eye witnesses appear to swear this is all true but without even any atmospheric effect. The low point was the surprise that quartz struck together sparks - Triboluminescence. In the age of Google they couldn't even research it. Sandman, Bigfoot, Orbs, UFOs, UAPs and Spook Lights it's all going on in the Anza Borrego Triangle but the show just doesn't bring this to life.
Wait until it's on YouTube in a year and just listen while youre doing something else. It works better as a sound piece.

Though quite a departure from the excellent novel, season 1 was very watchable. The pacing was good, script tight and the plot made sense. It was a solid 7. It should have wrapped up there.
Season 2 stretches the link from the novel to breaking point. Dan Chase and Harold Harper run around like old men. Harper is reduced to a simpering fool rather than a seasoned intelligence pro. More like last of the summer wine than mission impossible.
The story moves more squarely on to Angela Adams. I watched through to the end to see it through. Disappointing...
Thankfully season 3 hasn't been commissioned.
