Gray haired, Jesus lovin' Granny who spent most of my life boasting about my "Heathens Only, Exclusive Membership card" so please don't try to tell me how I've been brainwashed since childhood by "Bible thumpers" & I've never learned to think independently! I'm so proud of my 3 fun-loving, handsome & very special grandsons - I just wish that I could see them more often. (2014 - What a blessing! A little girl has been added to the family; she's so fortunate to have 3 big brothers to spoil and protect her!) I've also been blessed with wonderful Service Dogs who help to mitigate symptoms & side effects of my disabilities. Phoebe is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and my 2nd Service Dog who wags with her entire body, is the Social Butterfly of our family (of 2! ha ha!), is very loving & loyal, & takes care of me even when she is beyond exhausted - I'm so grateful she's in my life! Pit bull type dogs have been the dogs of my heart for decades now & I work to correct the misunderstandings about these great family dogs. I like a wide variety of books & movies: I love Bible study, Sci Fi has been a favorite of mine since I was in the 3rd grade and read "I Robot" by Isaac Asimov, I enjoy police procedurals, crime stories, action & adventure, thrillers, I really enjoy all sorts of documentaries (I just have to take LOTS of notes now that I have a 5 minute memory!), war movies/books, just about any story that is based on real life or is a biography or autobiography, and historical stories (based on actual events). It's VERY difficult for me to pick out a favorite type of movie, book, food, decorating style, or even clothing style - they all change depending on the weather, my mood, the environment, and especially the people who might be sharing the space with me at the time! I would generally be considered a conservative who eats mostly vegetarian, but loves the taste of Thai, Vietnamese, East Indian, Mexican, most Asian foods, Greek & whatever I'm eating tomorrow. I really enjoy cooking for those with 2 legs & for canines, but I don't have the energy required to do as much cooking as I used to.

"Lost" for teens w/extreme profanity

The scenery is beautiful, but there's really no mystery about the plot. Like too much American "entertainment" there is excessive profanity. The liberal use of profanity does not indicate that anyone with half a brain is celebrating their 1st Amendment rights (maybe some with less than half of a brain). It's become indicative of immature audiences being titillated by such things and writers who substitute what could have been authentic dialogue. While Hollyweird would like to convince people that this is truly how families communicate, it is not really true. What was offensive to our parents is still offensive to most young parents today. Is Hollyweird going to give up? Not likely, it has gone on for too long with too few speaking out against it. The best way to voice that opinion? Shut it off and find something decent to watch.
