geiserraphael-71105's rating
This movie tries very hard to be 300, by replicating everything horrible that movie had to offer. Simultaneously it rehashes the story of the first movie, but bungles that as well.
The presentation: Everyone we are supposed to hate is a walking caricature both in "character" as in appearance. That way we don't have to hurt our wee heads by thinking too hard about any ambiguity, because there is none to be found.
The characters: Denzel does a decent, but unremarkable job. Lior Raz from "Fauda" fame does a decent job without much to work with... Everyone else falls flat, since their characters were written so one-dimensional that they never stood a chance.
I can't even judge if the lead did a good job, since he appears as a spoiled, angry child from the get go and never really changes.
The script: Like everything else, the script doesn't fail to disappoint. Things happen because they must, not because they make any sense. There are so many instances where someone acts completely irrational, or is just "doing what the script demanded", without any form of acting involved. The dialogue, the interactions, the reactions, the tactics, the reasoning... Nothing makes sense, and nothing feels "real". We're just here to swallow what we're told and not think too hard. Or at all.
Overall verdict: a movie to avoid. There's nothing to be found here, not even some faint nostalgia.

Clicked on it by accident and had to keep watching until I was done. I love the fact that the whole show is based on a little short film on YouTube.
It's obvious that the budget wasn't comparable to any first or even second-rate Hollywood productions, which makes some sets and exterior shots look a bit cheesy and monotone.
Where this show shines though is through it's characters. You feel for them, hate them, love them and feel ultimately devastated when the show reaches it's inevitable conclusions.
So this was what the first season made me feel. After that they made more. I don't really know why. That's all I can say about them.
