I first thought the plot of swapping wishes was hokey, but there was a spark between Casey and Henry from the start and it worked. The two leads Emily Tennant and Jake Foy had chemistry and its showed. It was not a perfect script, but it kept moving along between the farm, family, friends and dancing. It was funny and light which kept it from bogging down. The supporting cast was good, mostly strong well known actors and actresses who have been in other Hallmark or Canadian films.
And beautiful British Columbia where it was filmed, a picture wherever you looked. Loved the old trucks. Maybe they'll do a sequel, "The Farmer's Wife".

Another poorly written Hallmark mystery and as usual it's the script and dialog that are the problems. Barbara Niven's affected Dolores Swenson character is over the top and dumb, she's not funny. She played a similar snooty character in a holiday movie and her character was also dumb. Her character should be dropped or toned down.
And Hannah not Dolores is the lead and Hannah should be solving the crimes. I enjoyed the series more when Cameron Mathison played the detective, you don't need a DA. I don't know why Mathison left the series or if his character was written out. It's never been a great series, but it was less annoying in past movies.

I agree with the other reviewers, the problem with the series is the script. It reminds me of some bad American police procedurals. In general I have no problem with the cast. Episodes 1-3 were better than episodes 4 & 5.
Hanna is a stereotype of a green detective who goes off on her own and doesn't take orders from her senior partner. In real life she would have likely flunked as a detective. She goes off without regard to her safety and that of others. It's related to another stereotypical character that writers love, the rogue cop.
I'm a big fan of the "Beck" series set in Stockholm that has a really good cast and superior scripts. This series isn't anywhere near "Beck" in quality, the scripts need a lot of work.
I'm a fan of "Sandhamn Murders" also from Viveca Sten mystery novels. Different cast, writers and different production companies, "Are Murders" isn't the same caliber..
