In the mid 50's my favorite Aunt Elnora gave me a copy of "Girl of the Limberlost" for my very own and I still have it. I cannot count the many times I was embraced by the rich story of Elnora Comstock's life in the Limberlost swamp.
I wanted so much more from this movie. The story was crippled by its abbreviation. The photography could have been a story in itself. "The Girl of the Limberlost" is as much a story for today as it was when written.
Please, someone - anyone - redo this and make it America's story. Not every great movie needs a comic book hero and massive explosions to be good. Beautiful quiet human stories can be just as good.

What an incredible film! IF there are any doubters out there about improvements we can make in our relationship with Nature so that we can share our home equally, this will dispel those doubts immediately. - Another marvel from Sir David Attenborough. But this one has enormous future impact and should be required viewing by every human on this planet. Can't you imagine the excitement and HOPE our children can experience with this knowledge and awareness of our role in the world. It takes my breath away. Our future prospects look far brighter than I ever would have guessed. Thank you, Apple TV.
"Queen Charlotte" was human, compassionate, and complex enough that I binged it in one day.
Overlaying 21st century's unresolved issues made this series very strong. I loved all the characters and their foibles. The ending was gentle but not without tears. Shonda taught as yet again that a life without love, purpose and hope is not a life.
Compared to the earlier campy "Bridgerton" series, "Queen Charlotte" made us care/not care about Shonda's re-invented historical figures. At it's best I was emotionally drawn into the story explore the back stories of pivotal characters of the "Bridgerton" series.
