When I saw this movie back in 2004, it was NOT with the intention of being turned off by McDonald's, etc. I simply saw it because it sounded interesting and because there was a lot of talk about it.
I won't rehash the movie's plot or any particular scenes, as plenty of others have already done that. But I WILL share the fact that watching the movie and scenes unfold had an unexpected effect on me: I began feeling nauseated pretty early on, and stayed nauseated for some time afterwards! Around this time, my husband and I had had a regular weekly "date" of eating McDonald's Quarter Pounders with cheese. After seeing this movie, however, we just couldn't do that anymore, as the mere thought of eating that stuff had become VERY unappetizing.
In the 20 years since seeing that movie, we HAVE occasionally had McDonald's again, albeit only once a year...if even that often! Which is just as well, of course.
If you plan on watching this documentary again-or for the first time-I suggest that you not do so right after eating!
