This is not a pure Anurag Basu movie. It has all the exteriors of an Anurag Basu movie, but the soul is missing. N he might have sold the soul of the movie to the Bollywood overlords to make this film happen.
Let me explain.
I have always liked Anurag Basu's work. Everyone likes Barfi, Ludo, etc., but I also liked his movies like Kites. There is something in his movies that is so pure, so real, and so touching. Like Ranbir doing things for Priyanka, Abhishek and that little girl's chemistry, or Hritik risking everything for the damsel in distress. Anurag Basu is a master of seeing people being happy and wholesome in otherwise hopeless situations. That's the soul of his movies.
That is not the case in this movie. The movie is filled with things that are totally unlike what Anurag makes. Maybe he had changed a lot of things to fulfil the wishes of the overlords and make this ambitious project happen. For example, the Rainbow part, taking useless non-actors like Ali Fazal (furniture can act better than Ali Fazal).
Let's hope for the best for his next movies.
Please save your money and don't watch it in theatres.

What was the point of making this movie?
Saif- please retire now. Ur charm is over. Please don't make urself a joke by romancing with actresses of ur daughter's age.
Jaideep Ahlawat- saving grace with superb acting. But wasted talent in piss poor character writing.
Nikita Dutta- What was the role? Generic Bollywood heroine. No real chemistry with saif and no real reason why would she fall for saif. I think, better written character would be, honey trapping saif to know his plan and throw him off his plan n putting him in a real jeopardy. But as a heroine of bollywood movie, she had to fall in love with grandpa saif and become a love-bugged.
Kulbhushan Kharbandaji- nothing against him. But a genuine question. How did an honest doctor, who sees patients for Rs 10 only n gives free medicines, own a big lavish bungalow in Mumbai? It must have been worth 50-100 crores. OR, was he the OG Jewel Thief, disguising as an honest doctor? 🤔
Kunal Kapoor- just happy to see him. Real hero like screen presence. But his character was same as typical Indian police, trying to copy Jay of Dhoom franchise.
Story- was there any?
Directors- must have given up in the beginning of the movie n said 'duck it, can't make this any good out of this, so lets enjoy this all paid vacation'.
Btw, what do u expect anything else made under watch of the great Mr Siddharth Anand, the biggest brain-rot movies creator. He has been trusted to make 4-5 movies only in last 14 years.
Dear Netflix, please get better people to choose the movies to fund.

To the makers of the series: Please don't make second season.
They tried to be Narcos n Breaking bad. Ultimately, they made a stupid series.
The main cast doesn't have any chemistry with each other at all. They all show intense expressions on the face, but never gel with each other. Even supposed relationships between Shahida and Preeti seems like, are they a couple?
Only interaction between Pathak ji n Preeti seems that they have something bonding or working with each other.
Most disappointing characters: (1) Shabana Azmi: her character should be inconspicuous but then turning into a menacing ex-underworld boss girl. But initially, she acts as furniture. Later, rather than menacing and mastermind, does not leave any impact.
(2) Jyotika: She wears only one expression throughout the series. Her character should have been like the most complex. A wife who does not get any respect from husband, a struggling businesswoman, conflicted for selling out her husband's secret, unwillingly involved into dirty business. N she accomplished all these by wearing one expression on her face.
(3) Sunil Grover: What a waste of talent. He can do certainly best. Her last episode role was to be like a sophisticated joker. The plot of the last episode was to send chills down the spine by only his performance while other characters stay silent aghast. He tried to do his best with whatever crappy writing given to him. I feel bad for him.
Anyways, don't listen to the false 10 star reviews. You can do better things with your time, rather than watching this.
