I know this movie, Gravity, and Interstellar for whatever reason get mixed up... I guess it has to do with the fact a number of the cast in Interstellar are in this.
I've never seen Gravity, I love interstellar, and I thought I'd give this a watch.
It's got its moments, but this movie really drags. I was expecting us to maybe get some extra scenes before going to mars, but this movie starts right as Matt Damon is stranded on mars.
The movie rushes to the start, and then goes on to drag for the next two hours. Basic setup is our hero is on a mission to mars and a storm happens...
It just happens, we don't even get to know any of the characters or really even know why they're on Mars in the first place.
This movie is watchable, it's got some moments, but I can't recommend it. Matt Damon does a great job, but I can't say anything else positive.
Our MC seems to be in a very dire situation as he's been stranded on mars, but nowhere in the movie does it really feel like he's in danger.
Our character has no emotional connection to the story besides he doesn't want to die on another planet. The whole cast feels hollow.
Nobody really stands out, I don't care about the scientific inaccuracies, and I doubt I'll ever watch it again.
Also, I realized this is a Ridley Scott film. I seriously have no idea how he keeps getting work in Hollywood. I have never seen a good Ridley Scott film.
This movie should have been an easy slam dunk, but it's pretty mediocre. I understand why this movie has pretty much been memory holed while Interstellar is supreme.
Not recommended.

The best Chris Farley movie and one of my favorites. I admit I've probably seen this movie so many times it's not funny anymore, but if you've never seen it, check it out. It's very quotable and memorable. It's up there with movies like Wayne's World. Go watch it.
