I will start off by saying that I haven't read the manga or seen the anime, so my perspective is strictly based on the show.
Bet grabbed my attention and held on enough for me to binge the whole show in one day. Overall, I found the show enjoyable to watch. I found myself more invested in some characters than others. The characters do have some campy moments and can feel kind of like caricatures at times, but I've found that's relatively normal for anime shows and adaptations. This is a show that I would watch again and enjoy seeing where the writers might take it in season two. Too many shows don't get the chance to really get going, and I'm hoping this is one that does.

Greatly enjoyed this series! Will likely watch again and again as I await a season 2 announcement. The acting was excellent. Some twists and turns are what you expect and some are not. This show has the classic teen angst and drama. It also has deeper life lessons and themes of dealing with grief, journey of self discovery, moving to a new town, and returning home to see so much has changed. Both the teens and adults have a story to tell that draws you in and keeps you engaged. The pacing is good and kept me entertained throughout. Like many shows, there were some lull moments, but I didn't mind them because I found myself invested in the characters and their individual stories.
Friends & Family Christmas is everything you want in a cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie. It has found family, fake dating, falling in love, and a touch of drama. It showcases friendship, ambition, and different family dynamics while being a love story at heart. Sure it follows the classic Hallmark Rom Com formula, but that's why we watch these shows. Isn't it? We want to see cheesy, happy love stories. We want to feel all warm and cozy inside as we watch two people fall in love. So if you're needing something light and heartwarming this holiday season, I highly recommend Friends & Family Christmas.
