This show is far more interesting than how the synopsis been described.
The sense of adventure with a hint of mystery and twists makes this show engaging.
Unlike other Chinese dramas where their actors are set to only have a unitary character, the characters in this show are very lively and yet charming, you can clearly see the growth of the characters throughout the show. All the characters in this show are all well developed and none of them will make you feel like throwaways, which can be said about the antagonists. I like the antagonists that appear in the show (yeah, the antagonists), all the action scenes they portrayed keep my eyeballs stick to the screen. They are all distinctive and crucial to the overall plot. You will get tense up through their journey together as they uncover truths behind the mystery of the hidden gold kingdom and discover revelations about themselves.
Nothing ever feels wasted or dragged out within these 40 episodes. The flow is smooth although some parts still leave me with questionnaires and there is a cliffhanger at the end that really makes me hope for Season 2.
The beautiful cinematography and interesting convincing story background and worldbuilding are worth watching. This show should be more popular and well known than it has been.
