Casting and acting is superb, writing is outstanding, beautifully crafted show which you feel a mix of emotions watching it because it really taps in to the human condition and the impact of cases which will be very real for people. The main cast each bring something special. It's seasoned with very current social attitudes or issues but not making them the main focus. I love the fact it's one case per season and never loses momentum throughout. You can truly see the reality coming through in these fictional stories. Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Baskhar have ineffable chemistry and deliver in every single second of their screen time. Can't recommend it enough.
Season 1 was good. Season 2 is stupid. Show's good, entertaining but flawed. I think the character of Helen was hugely miscast. Danielle Macdonald was tolerable in season 1 but she spoiled season 2. She's just not that strong of an actress. She's irritating and she can't deliver the dialogue effectively given to her. She can't show any expression beyond an "I'm constipated" look. I know it's meant to have a comedic tone but there are too many unlikely scenarios which occur. Season 2 is hugely muddled and confused. It's a shame because it's a good premise and Season 1 was flawed but enjoyable. Season 2 spoiled it.
