I have just watched this with my 7 year old son, now obviously he is used too modern day tv and movies so at the start i did fear that it was going to be too dated for him and even myself, this was not the case, it is a heartwarming story with good old fashioned values that we both enjoyed, even though this is 60 years old to the year all the songs and references are still about to this day which shows this is a timeless piece, highly recommend this and also note the snowman in was the inspiration for the snowman at the start of the film ELF with Will Ferrell, a classy credit to the whole film.
Really strange film, people say it never gets going however I always felt engaged in the film even though very little seemed to be happening, I think you would really need to understand the main characters to appreciate the film which I personally did, some characters did not really have a place in the story line In my opinion and like I've said this film will not be for everyone, that's why I'm giving it a 7.
Really good movie, keeps you on the edge of your seat and realistic compared to something like lake placid!
