As a 25+ year veteran of a police department very close to Baltimore, this is the most true-to-life portray of police work ever made for television. Sorry haters...The Shield was the MOST unrealistic one even though people think that's what happens!
Anyway, the only thing that kept this from a 10 overall was the last season. It was stretched to some unbelievable bits of story that weren't as realistic as all of the prior seasons. There were many incredible actors on this show that made it so good. I could not recommend this show more to anyone.

Jon Favreau completely hits it on all levels in this series. It is everything a long time, "older" Star Wars fan wants in a television show. There are plenty of, "Oh I remember that character from Empire" and other moments for long time fans. It is well done. I'm afraid for season 2. Nothing ever seems to match the original. Best of luck in topping season 1!!!
So season 1 was definitely a 10. Hands down...great stuff. Season 2 suffered a bit from 1 but still pretty good. Solid 8. Season 3? A 2 or 3 star at best. This review has nothing to do with the actors. They are all great. The story and writing has gotten terrible. I shudder to think how bad season 4 will be...
