I don't know why so many people on here are complaining about this being miserable and not much fun to watch.it's a dark thriller after all.if you are looking for a show filled with action sequences, this isn't for you.
The show,in my opinion benefits from the slow build up.it really gives the actors the chance to put in a gripping performance that has you hooked from the start.
Sean Pertwee is excellent as per usual and Glenister absolutely steals the show with his amazingly emotional performance.
Great acting from the whole cast and I feel sorry for the people who didn't make it to the heartbreaking end.if you can't be bothered to watch something in it's entirety because the show isn't the type of thing you expected, you shouldn't leave a negative review.

I am currently mid season 3 and have just finished reading Dead like you.
I have to say that the book is a real page turner and I haven't been as gripped by a book for a long time.
The tv episode just doesn't come close to being as good.
There is no way a 600+ page book can be condensed into a 90 minute show without being watered down to a point where it's almost unrecognisable.
There is so much of the plot missing and there isn't time to properly flesh out the characters, with hardly any back story to speak of.
Also, the guy in the book that has a serious shoe fetish, spending time stalking his prey in Brighton's shoe shops has changed into a guy with a passing interest in lipstick!
There just isn't that sense of dread and anticipation that builds in the book.
The whole thing seems too rushed and the original story deserves a later time slot and at least two episodes to properly do it justice.
The cast are great. John Simm is how I imagined Grace to be and the Potting character would be great in his own series.
I would like to add that in the Parents Guide section of this show there is a review saying that there are constant F-bombs and C-bombs.
This just isn't true.there really isn't much swearing at all.
Overall,it's a decent show. Just don't read the books first.

I just re-watched this show and I have to disagree with other reviewers and say that it doesn't stand the test of time well.
What made this show stand out originally was how rude it was (in a juvenile kind of way). The constant stream of shag jokes appealed to a younger me,but that and the continuous Clare references have just become annoying now. That might be a result of binge watching though.
The main characters are pretty likable but the plots are pretty poor and each episode seems to revolve around the same recycled jokes Comedy has moved on and is more rude,in your face and brutal now and this looks tame in comparison.
I was thinking of rewatching Men behaving badly but think it may not age well either.
