I didn't read the book & didn't walk in with preconceived notions. Basically a coming of age film about a girl attracted to a fledgling rock star and she falls into the "groupie" mindset & lifestyle for a bit. Nothing epic but everyone plays their part well & it's an entertaining movie.
Amanda Crew seriously needs to change management, she done got stuck in another drizzler. A girl with those looks & to be continuously misused and abused in these horrible movies is an embarrassment
Chelsea Green is a welcome & pleasant surprise. She's the best of the few wrestling has-beens in this flick. She truly has a bright future ahead of her provided she plays the politics well enough.
The movie's basically about a small town girl that makes it big on the wrestling circuit and, for one reason or another, is contemplating packing it in. Amanda has a guy who's hot for her (naturally) and he lusts to be by her side.
This movie seems to have been made by a committee of people with a slew of different ideas & things they wanted to implement in it. It's a slow steady snoozer with a lackluster plot, flimsy & unfunny inside jokes, no drama to speak of (Hint: showing the female wrestlers working through their match for that night's main event nullifies the heat you're looking to get). Absolutely and I mean TOTALLY 0% chemistry between Amanda and the male lead.
Amanda & Chelsea, as beautiful as they are, cannot carry this movie>everyone in the movie can act to one degree or another but the plot, the direction, and the script, and the editing is severely lacking.
You have been warned: this has to be one of the worst wrestling -themed movies I've seen in my life thus far. It's like a long winded, pointless, clumsy wrestling promo that falls apart at the seams...and it keeps going & going. It's enough to make a guy turn heel forever on the people who thought making this movie was a good idea.

Successful actress heads back to her old hometown to exact vengeance on an old employer that did her wrong. A jumbled mess of a movie. Could've been(should've been) done so much better. Amanda Crew is good but given little to work with, not her fault. This movie needed a revised plot with twists and an exciting tempo. I wonder how much the editor left on the cutting room floor, was it worse than what I just watched?
